POSH Girls > Coaching Centre Coaching Centre The coaching centre is aimed at young girls from 7-13 years who would like to get into football. Many of the girls have never played football before or play for a school team. The centre is run by qualified female coaching staff who will develop the players and either feed them into local teams or support them through the POSH Girls squads. The centre has many aims, to provide support for young girls in football, to increase low self-esteem and confidence and to use football as a tool through education and life skills. By providing female coaches who act as role models to the young players we can support the players in many ways. Although there are many levels in football looking at grassroots through to elite level, we are focusing on enjoyment, inclusion & development. All staff involved have been in the game for a long time and are able to bring their own experiences to the centre. We would like to change the attitude in football by helping produce positive confident players who can reach their goals! At the centre we are looking to provide females with the opportunity to gain football qualifications whether that be as coaches or as officials. Also we are looking to support the community and other female clubs across the city with in-service training sessions so that all clubs can benefit and develop. Training for the Peterborough United Coaching Centre is at: Hampton College on Wednesday 5.30-7.00 under 11s & First training session is free and thereafter costs £2.50 per session All coaches are FA qualified, CRB screened and have undertaken the Safeguarding Children in Football course and the Emergency Aid.
