POSH Girls > Match Reports POSH Girls Match Reports - Jan 20th 2008 U11s Fenland League POSH Girls (3) v Wyberton (3) Sat 20th Jan POSH U11's entertained Wyberton Wildcats at Hampton which on the previous two encounters have been well fought and very equally matched,so there was real desire to come away with the points. This encounter was action packed and exciting from the start to the final whistle. POSH were a little slow to start resulting in Wyberton taking the lead after just 6 minutes. This made POSH spring into action and Megan Parrett having just come onto the pitch showed good individual skill and control and scored a well struck goal, levelling the score 1-1. Both teams had opportunities with the midfield controlling play effectively and feeding the ball to the strikers. Wyberton were kept under control by mature and disciplined defending from Jessica Amps and Ellie Ireson, who are now developing a good understanding, especially when covering and supporting each other. Unfortunately Wyberton went into the lead just 5 minutes before half time with a well struck goal. Manager: Laura Griggs. U13s Fenland League Guyhirn (3) v POSH Girls (2) Sat 26th Jan The girls are certainly making their mark!! Straight in on the whistle saw Bethany Cameron score the 1st inside 5 minutes with some nice movement all round. Guyhirn kept a tight back line which was difficult to break down but the girls kept fighting their way through for Amy Morris to notch the second with a fantastic pass from the wing from Abbey Goymour. 2-2 at half time, the girls knew the second half would be a struggle but they kept their heads up and carried on battling. Danielle Perkins & Hannah Sansom kept a strong defence but couldn’t avoid another goal from Guyhirn. Final score 2-3. Although this game was lost, the POSH Girls are a pleasure to watch, constantly improving individually & as a team. Outstanding performance! Manager: Katie Gallagher Players: Jazzy Priddis • Hanah Sansom • Dani Perkins • Amy Morris • Kirsty Hall • Abbey Goymour • Hollie Turner • Bethany Cameron • Lauretta Burdge
