Over the last couple of weeks POSH Girls have really developed as a squad and are growing in confidence each match. Starting strong POSH Girls took the game to Hungate and put their defense under pressure. Alexa Hunter's strong running down the wing and confident turns delivered good balls into the area where the POSH Girls had a couple of chances that went wide. As Hungate Rovers started to pile on the pressure another solid performance by Ellie Ireson and Natasha Stubbs kept a clean sheet at half time. In the second half both teams gave a gripping performance which had the supporters gasping for breath! A rebounded shot and a very good finish saw Hungate go 1-0 up. With end to end play a determined POSH Girls fought hard against a strengthening Hungate. With minutes ticking down on the clock POSH kept fighting back and a great counter attack from the back saw, Katherine Amps and Alexa Hunter sprint forward to deliver a well paced ball to the feet of Georgie Elsom, who took the ball around two defenders before firing the ball into the goal.
