POSH Girls > Match Reports POSH Girls Match Reports - April 05th 2008 U13s Fenland League POSH Girls (0) v Dersingham (8)
You could certainly say that this match was a game of two half's when Dersingham traveled to the home of the POSH Girls. Not having played a match for a couple of weeks and with only a few remaining fixtures to play the POSH Girls had valuable points to collect. After only a few seconds of the match kicking off Dersingham delivered a punishing goal which left the POSH Girls standing. Quick to re-start play the POSH quickly retrieved the ball and started again. It wasn't long before the away side scored again and again to leave the POSH wondering what they could do to push back Dersingham. Not wiling to give up the girls made some great passes to get into Dersingham's defending half but were unable to score past their keeper. Half time couldn't come quick enough and with already eight goals from Dersingham, the POSH Girls needed to take some serious action. With a complete change around with the POSH Girls players and with new goals set for them in the second half some would say a new team arrived on pitch. An outstanding performance was given by the girls who battled hard, supported each other and a buzz of positive energy and self believe. Much more football was played in the Dersingham's defending half and more opportunities to score. At one stage Hannah Sansom had great vision to lob the keeper and only just missed out on what would have been a great goal. Jazzy Priddis, had a few a goals to save in the second half but again great determination kept Dersingham out of the net. Kirsty Hall played a 'blinder' in defence a real captain's performance but all credit goes to the whole squad for their 'never say die' attitude! Although a defeat all girls should be extremely proud of their second half performance which was thrilling to watch. Dersingham are currently lying in second position in the Fenland League but the POSH Girls showed that although this season we haven't had the results when they play like they did in the second half of this match they are certainly as good as the teams at the top. Girls, take this second half result into the next match and we are really confident you will be collecting those five points. Well done we are all really proud! Players: Jazzy Priddis • Hanah Sansom • Dani Perkins • Elizabeth Pacey • Kirsty Hall • Abbey Goymour • Bethany Cameron • Amy Morris
