U11s S-Tech League Sawtry (2) v POSH Girls (5)

Posh U11 S-Tech Girls remain undefeated after travelling to face the Sawtry Colts.
The early signs were good for Posh as early on Megan Parrett fired home. Digging in and producing some strong play Sawtry were able to level the score halfway through the 1st half only to concede to a Keir Perkins strike in the dying seconds as Posh took the advantage into the break.
Sawtry scored first as they set the pace for an exciting 2nd half, but Posh linked up well with each other to confidently close out the match 5-2 with goals from Parrett, Mundo and a wonderful, looping, top corner effort from Captain Kim Lane.

U13s Fenland League Wisbech Purple (10) v POSH Girls (0)

The POSH Girls U13 Fenland side met Wisbech St Mary Purple away. Last week at Stamford we really saw the girls gel and we were looking forward to this spirit growing. The girls did not failure us at all and in the first 25 minutes the POSH Girls worked incredible hard to keep the Wisbech girls at bay. Wisbech were a good passing side, but POSH never failed to keep up the pressure and had some good chances going forward. Unfortunately with a bare 7, illness and a couple of injuries this started to take its toll on the girls. However the girls continued with great determination and spirit even thought Wisbech seemed to be scoring goal after goal. We cannot fault the girls performance and certainly Kirsty Hall gave us a Captain's performance, a powerful and tiresome duo in defence, Hannah Sansom and Jazzy Priddis, a tough act Lauretta Burdge, a team spirited Danielle Perkins, a nifty Bethany Cameron and a positive Billie Ridlington. I strongly believe this squad will grow from strength to strenght and I have absolute faith in them for the future.

U13s S-Tech League Histon Hornets (0) v POSH Girls (10)

On Saturday POSH U13 Girls travelled to third position Histon Hornets. POSH Girls started strongly and didn't give Histon any time on the ball at all. The opening goal came from Cady Carollissen who powered the ball into the net. A well weighted ball over the top of the midfield landed just in front of Stacie Heron who skillfully took it around the keeper & slotted it into the corner of the goal. A further four goals came from the unstoppable duo Amy Challis and Stacie Heron. Histon had a chance on goal before half time but a determined Sarah Galpin sprinted from her line to commit herself to the deck on the edge of the 18 yard box to save Posh's back four from a shock attack. In the second half it was clear that Histon's tactics were to bring every player back apart from a lone striker to stop the Posh Girls attacking. With this tactic working it was looking like there were going to be no more goals from Posh. But with patience and some quick passing Posh scored a further four goals. Georgia Campbell-Turner who seems to score from the most unlikely angles finished the day with her goal taken from the corner. Final score 10-0.
