The Girls from Peterborough United have arrived!

POSH Girls Coaching Centre have now officially joined partnership with Peterborough United Football Club. POSH Girls have been up and running for the last 2.5 years and this season which was their first competitive season, put out two squads, under 12s and under 10s.

The coaching centre is the first stage in the development plan for Women & Girls football in the City. The centre has been set up to encourage female players aged from 7-14yrs to develop their football skills and techniques, increase their confidence and self esteem and develop more in depth knowledge of the game.

A fifteen year plan has been written for the development of girls football in the City and the plan is to become one of the best development centre's for girls football in the country.

In their first season the under 12s squad did a fantastic job. Developing their skills over the season to give their Managers and supporters a brilliant insight to the future of girls football. The under 10s took the league by storm not only winning the league but also winning the cup. If anything is to go by with these two squads then the future of women & girls is very exciting.

The coaching centre is run by female qualified FA coaches with qualifications ranging from level 1 to the UEFA ‘B’ licence. The sessions run every Wednesday from 5.30pm - 7.30pm at Hampton College. Matches are usually played on a Saturday morning through the season. Tournaments and friendlies are arranged through the summer months to keep the players on their toes!

Next season we are fielding 4 squads and we will be running trials for our advanced squads soon so keep a look out for dates. The advanced centre will run quite similar to a centre of excellence however players will still play for their clubs and only play between 4-6 matches per season against other advance centre teams. This way giving talented players an opportunity to play a good level of football without having to leave their clubs. As a development centre we are looking to work with the local clubs to help develop them as well as female players, coaches & officials.
