POSH Girls Pre-Season Friendlies

Tuesday 21st August - Wittering (1) v Posh Girls (4) Under 11s

This season The POSH Girls are fielding 4 squads and those all important pre-season friendlies are crucial. The first of the pre-season matches saw POSH Girls away at Wittering. POSH Girls took 2 of their squads over to Wittering to play their under 11s and their under 15s. POSH Girls under 11s had a mixture of their experienced players from last season but also saw debuts from our new players who put in awesome performances in goal and defence. Keep training hard girls! The result ended up as Wittering 1 POSH Girls 4 and we wish both clubs all the best for the season.

Tuesday 21st August - Wittering (0) v Posh Girls (9) Under 13s

This season Wittering are putting out an under 15s squad which consists of some of their players from last season that we met in the league. Again this was a chance for some of our new players to make their debut appearance for POSH Girls. It was an excellent game with some fantastic display of quick passing and finishing. Our goalkeeper was left watching the game with only one touch throughout the whole of the match which gives credit to our defence. Good luck for the season girls!

Saturday 25th August - Kings Lynn (8) v Posh Girls (3) Under 11s

On Saturday we travelled over to Kings Lynn to play their under 11s Advanced Centre squad. We had invited Kings Lynn over to Peterborough in April where our under 10s at the time were comprehensively beaten 10-1. The 2nd meeting was a hot day and both sides settled well into the match. With some changes in the squad and an opportunity for the manager to try players in different positions, overall POSH Girls did extremely well. I think it was fair to say a different match from the game in April! The final result Kings Lynn 8 POSH Girls 3.

Saturday 25th August - Kings Lynn (1) v Posh Girls (3) Under 13s

After their win against Wittering on Tuesday it was back to training for the girls during the week. Having worked really hard over the pre-season training putting in lots of fitness work and working hard on various elements of the game, POSH Girls were asked to pile on the pressure against Kings Lynn even in the hot weather. At times we allowed Kings Lynn to come straight at us and this allowed them to take the opportunity to score. But the POSH Girls worked hard at maintaining the level of pressure that had been asked of them and saw some fantastic movement from the players. Final score Kings Lynn 1 POSH Girls 3
